Abortion

Abortion Praise be to Allaah. Firstly The Council of Senior Scholars issued the following statement: 1 – It is not permissible to abort a pregnancy at any stage unless there is a legitimate reason, and within very precise limits. 2 – If the pregnancy is in the first stage, which is a period of forty days, and aborting it serves a legitimate purpose or will ward off harm, then it is permissible to abort it. But aborting it at this stage for fear of the difficulty of raising children or of being unable to bear the costs of maintaining and educating them, or for fear for their future or because the couple feel that they have enough children – this is not permissible. 3 – It is not permissible to abort a pregnancy when it is an ‘alaqah (clot) or mudghah (chewed lump of flesh) (which are the second and third periods of forty days each) until a trustworthy medical committee ...
Letting garments come below the ankles (isbaal) in general, and with regard to pants in particular

With regard to letting garments come below the ankles (isbaal) in general, and with regard to pants in particular, several points should be noted: 1 – Letting garments touch the ankles is a major sin. The prohibition on isbaal is not only due to arrogance; rather it is haraam in and of itself, and it is itself a kind of arrogance. If arrogance of the heart is added to that, then the sin is greater. Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: Ibn al-‘Arabi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: It is not permissible for a man to let his garment go past his ankle and say “I am not letting it drag out of pride,” because the prohibition refers to it by name. It is not permissible if a thing is prohibited by name to say “I will not comply with it because the reason does not apply to me.” This is an unacceptable claim, rather his letting his garment ...
Woman taking off some or all of her clothes in a house other than her husband’s house -

Woman taking off some or all of ...
Maulid

Maulid Two imprtant points should considered here: 1. Bid'ah Hasnah means that a sunnah which has been neglected by the people and someone revived it such as Omar Ibn Al-Khattab when he made the people to pray Sataut-Taraeeh together in Jama'ah. He did not innovate that, he just revived the action of the Prophet (peace be upon him) which has been neglected. So we cannot innovate or just insert anything in the religion and call it Bid'ah Hasanah (Innovation of Guidance). 2. The birth date and day of the Prophet (peace be upon him) has not been authentically established. What has been established is the date of his death 12 Rabi'ul-Awwal, which means that we are celebrating the death of the Prophet (peace be upon him) not his birth. For more information about this innovation in the religion, please read the following: Firstly: There is no festival in Islamic sharee’ah that is called “The Prophet’s Birthday”. Neither the Sahaabah nor the Taabi’een nor the four imams nor anyone else recognized ...
The Ruling on Celebrating the Birthday of the Prophet (peace be upon him)

The Ruling on Celebrating the Birthday of the Prophet (peace be upon him) Assalamu Alaikum Firstly: There is no festival in Islamic sharee’ah that is called “The Prophet’s Birthday”. Neither the Sahaabah nor the Taabi’een nor the four imams nor anyone else recognized such a day as part of their religion. Rather this festival was introduced by some ignorant Baatini innovators, then the people began to follow this innovation but the imams have denounced it in every time and place. Secondly: Based on this, everything that the people do specially for this day is regarded as haraam, innovated actions, because they intend thereby to keep alive a festival that has been introduced into our religion, such as holding parties, offering food and so on. Shaykh al-Fawzaan said in al-Bayaan li Akhta’ ba’d al-Kuttaab (268-270): The commands in the Qur'aan and Sunnah to follow that which has been prescribed by Allah and His Messenger and the prohibition against introducing innovations into the religion are well known. Allah says ...
Patience of Believers*

Patience of Believers* For a believer, the scope of patience is not limited to enduring difficulties and problems with calmness. In the light of the verse, [You who believe, be steadfast; be supreme in steadfastness… ] (Aal `Imran 3:200), throughout his life, he shows an undeviating commitment to meticulously fulfilling all the commands of the Qur’an, to avoiding what is unlawful, to displaying moral perfection in every situation, without becoming daunted or losing heart. In short, he resolutely shows the patience and good manners prescribed by the religion. That is because one can develop these noble character traits only if one makes a steady effort. It is the people of faith who exhibit patience when making such efforts. As the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) informed Muslims in the following hadith, they know that patience is a gift for them from Allah: “No-one can be given a better and more abundant gift than patience” (Bukhari and Muslim). That is why patience permeates the entire ...
The Prophet's Treatment of his Wives

The Prophet's Treatment of his Wives Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) dealt justly with his wives, loved them, fondled them, and was patient and loyal with them. His actions sprang from a feeling of responsibility and because Allah the Almighty has created him righteous and equitable by nature. Lady A'isha said that the Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him) never preferred one wife more than the others and used to see them all in their homes everyday although he used to spend the night with one only. Treating his wives with equity never changed according to the change in his conditions. Whether he was traveling or present he was equitable. When he wanted to travel he used to pick without personal preference (through some way like drawing straws) which wife to accompany him. He used to spend one day and one night with each wife except when Lady Sauda Bint Zam'a reached old age and no longer had sexual desires she dedicated her day and ...
The explanation of the first two verses of Suratil-Qiyamah

Please read the explanation of the first two verses of Suratil-Qiyamah as follows: The Oath about the Final Return on the Day of Resurrection and the Refutation against the Plots of the Thinkers It has been mentioned previously on more than one occasion that if the thing that is being sworn about is something that is being negated, then it is permissible to use the word "La'' (Nay) before the oath to emphasize the negation. Here, what is being sworn about is the affirmation of the final abode and the refutation against the claim of the ignorant that the resurrection of bodies will not occur. This is why Allah says, [لاَ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ الْقِيَـمَةِ - وَلاَ أُقْسِمُ بِالنَّفْسِ اللَّوَّامَةِ ] (Nay! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. And nay! I swear by An-Nafs Al-Lawwamah.) Qatadah said, "This means, I swear by both of these things.'' This has also been reported from Ibn `Abbas and Sa`id bin Jubayr. Concerning the Day of Judgement, it is well known ...
The Visitor

This was an answer to an inserted Fabrication. lying to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). only the answer is here: The Visitor One day, a congregation was gathered at the home of one of the Ansar around the Prophet (SAW). (According to Anas, it was Abu Ayyub). In the middle of a wonderful discourse, an ugly voice from the outside was heard saying, 'O Messenger of Allah would you permit me to enter? I have business with you!' All looked at the Prophet (SAW), who said to the ones present, 'Do you recognize the owner of this voice?' The companions answered, 'Allah and His Messenger know best' The Prophet (SAW) said, 'It is Shaytan, the Accursed.' On hearing that, Umar (RAW), who was present, pulling his sword, asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, permit me to go and cut off his head. Let me smash his skull and free the people from his trouble' The Prophet (SAW) replied, 'No, Umar, don't you know that ...
Istikharah Prayer

Istikharah Prayer Istikharah Prayer This "prayer for guidance" is often used to help in important decision-making Anytime a Muslim is making a decision, he or she should seek Allah's guidance and wisdom. Allah alone knows what is best for us, and there may be good in what we perceive as bad, and bad in what we perceive as good. If you are ambivalent or unsure about a decision you have to make, there is a specific prayer for guidance (Salat-l-Istikhara) that you can do to ask for Allah's help in making your decision. Should you marry this certain person? Should you attend this graduate school? Should you take this job offer or that one? Allah knows what is best for you, and if you are not sure about a choice that you have, seek His guidance. The Prophet Muhammad said, "If one of you is concerned about some practical undertaking, or about making plans for a journey, he should perform two cycles (rak'atain) of voluntary prayer." Then he/she should say the following du'a: Translation: Oh Allah! I seek Your guidance by virtue of Your knowledge, and I seek ...
Dhabiha

  Q. We all watched the DVD half the way today, it is really very informative and we pointed out several things that we need to perform accordingly. I will watch the rest tomorrow as my daughter has to go to school and cannot be up so late. I have one more controversial question, its about the meat we can eat, I have seen people eating the meat from Costco or Savemart, is it halal. What is the real verdict for it. I would really appreciate if you can further clarify this issue.

  A. If there is Dhabiha (Halal) meat available, then A Muslim should eat it and stay away from the other meat. It has been proven sientifically that the Dhabiah is healthier and does not cause any healt problems like the other meat. Salam
