Abortion
Praise be to Allaah.
Firstly
The Council of Senior Scholars issued the following statement:
1 – It is not permissible to abort a pregnancy at any stage unless
there is a legitimate reason, and within very precise limits.
2 – If the pregnancy is in the first stage, which is a period of forty
days, and aborting it serves a legitimate purpose or will ward off
harm, then it is permissible to abort it. But aborting it at this stage
for fear of the difficulty of raising children or of being unable to
bear the costs of maintaining and educating them, or for fear for their
future or because the couple feel that they have enough children – this
is not permissible.
3 – It is not permissible to abort a pregnancy when it is an ‘alaqah
(clot) or mudghah (chewed lump of flesh) (which are the second and
third periods of forty days each) until a trustworthy medical committee

With regard to letting garments come below the ankles (isbaal) in general, and with regard to pants in particular, several points should be noted: 1 – Letting garments touch the ankles is a major sin. The prohibition on isbaal is not only due to arrogance; rather it is haraam in and of itself, and it is itself a kind of arrogance. If arrogance of the heart is added to that, then the sin is greater. Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: Ibn al-‘Arabi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: It is not permissible for a man to let his garment go past his ankle and say “I am not letting it drag out of pride,” because the prohibition refers to it by name. الحديث الذي رواه الإمام أحمد وابن ماجه
والحاكم عن عائشة رضي الله عنها بلفظ : ( أيما امرأة وضعت ثيابها في غير بيت زوجها
فقد هتكت ستر ما بينها وبين الله ) . ورواه أحمد والطبراني والحاكم والبيهقي عن أبي
أمامة رضي الله عنه بلفظ : ( أيما امرأة نزعت ثيابها خرق الله عز وجل عنها ستره )
ومراده صلى الله عليه وسلم والله اعلم : منعها من التساهل في كشف ملابسها في غير
بيت زوجها على وجه ترى فيه عورتها ، وتتهم فيه لقصد فعل الفاحشة ونحو ذلك ، أما خلع
ثيابها في محل آمن ، كبيت أهلها ومحارمها لإبدالها بغيرها ، أو للتنفس ونحو ذلك من
المقاصد المباحة البعيدة عن الفتنة – فلا حرج في ذلك .
